Emory Keith Stringfellow

Graveside funeral services for Emory Keith Stringfellow, age 89 will be held at 2:00P.M. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Sunnyside Cemetery at East 8th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015. Pastor Phil Skelton will officiate.

Mr. Stringfellow was born October 5, 1934, in Macon, Georgia. He was the son of the late Lee Roy "Buck"and Alicia Edwards Stringfellow. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Horton Stringfellow, and a brother, Gerald Ausburn Stringfellow. He lived a very simple life loving Jesus first, his family second, and the Georgia Bulldogs third. He always had a sharp mind where he knew everyone by their name and all their extended relatives. He served on the Macon City Council for two terms. He also served as an advisor to Mayor George Israel. He was known as Col. Bond where he led carriage tours in downtown Macon. He was the Past President of Macon Convention and Visitor Bureau. He was a well-known Macon historian. He attended Christ Chapel of Macon for many years before joining Lawerence Drive Baptist Church. He also sold real estate for Hudson and Marshall Realty Company. Mr. Stringfellow passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Zebulon Park Health and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Stringfellow is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Stringfellow of Macon, 2 children, Kahran S. (Dr. Ellis) Evans of Macon, and Lance (Jane) Stringfellow of Macon, 3 stepchildren, Steve (Teresa) Herring of Cumming, Wanda Grant of Warner Robins, and Amy (Kerry) Dawson of Kathleen, 2 grandchildren, Brooke Evans (Nathan) Stanley, Britney Stringfellow (Rick) Spires, 6 step-grandchildren, Brad (Kimberly) Grant, Brittany Grant (Brandon) Brooks, Bryce (Emily) Dawson, John Garrett Dawson, Kyle (Erika) Herring, and Lindsey (Matt) Prosser, 2 great-grandchildren, Evans Olivia Stanley, and Georgia Priscilla Spires, and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend thanks to staff at the Zebulon Park and Rehabilitation Center for their outstanding care provided to Mr. Stringfellow.
