Ernest Franklin Durden

Ernest Franklin Durden, age 85, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at home. He was born December 9, 1933 in Tarrytown to parents Sebon Ernest Durden and Eva Mae Wood. He was a United States Marine veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked in the construction industry with Tradco Vulcan Materials. He was a Christian by faith and a member of Nails Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Joyce Durden, his sons Ernie (Angela), Al (Cindy), Andy (Linda) and Barry (Mylora), 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside funeral service with military honors will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Alan Heath and Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Durden, Cody Durden, Drew Durden, Bryson Durden, Franklin Durden, Dallas Durden and David Carter. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
