F. Wayne "Shang" Lord

April 27, 1940 — August 11, 2020

F. Wayne "Shang" Lord went to Eternal Heavenly Home August 11, 2020, after an extended illness. Because of Covid-19, Graveside services will be held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkinson County for the immediate family. Wayne was born in Wilkinson County April 27, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cecil Lord, Sr. and Annie Yancey Lord; grandson Ryan Foskey; brothers, Robert Cecil "Sonny" Lord and James Guyton Lord; brother-in-law Ray Tompkins. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years Linda "Sue" Spivey Lord; daughter Degie Lord Foskey of Mt. Vernon; grandson Danweil Foskey of Mt. Vernon; great-granddaughter Emmalee Foskey and Ellabelle Conner of Normantown; sister Marlene L. Tompkins of Milledgeville; brother Emmo Lord (Cheryl) of McIntyre: brother-in-law Rickey Spivey (Karen) of Milledgeville: sister-in-law Marion Spivey of Milledgeville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Wayne graduated from Wilkinson County High School in 1958. He graduated from South Georgia Technical College in electronics in 1960. He worked with Ed Powel's TV Service until 1973. He started working at Robins Air Force Base in 1973 and retired in 1998. Wayne accepted Jesus as his Savior at a very young age. He joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wilkinson County. When he and his wife, Sue, moved to Dublin in 1962 they joined Marie Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon. In 1972, his family moved their membership to Pinehurst Drive Baptist Church. As long as he was physically able he was known as Mr. Handyman in the church. He painted, repaired, cut grass or whatever he felt needed doing at the time. He felt this was a way he could serve the Lord and he did it very well. We thank God for sending Serenity Hospice Nurse, Peggy Johnson to take such good care of Wayne. There are not enough words to express our heartfelt love and appreciation for her expertise and compassion. Many thanks to each Serenity Hospice worker for the help they gave so graciously. It is the family's request that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in C/O Emmo Lord, 10270 HWY 57, McIntyre, GA 31054. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
