Faye Brantley Powell

Funeral services for Faye Brantley Powell, age 81, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Kirk Hagan and Mr. Chip Huggins officiating. Interment to follow in Westview Cemetery. Born on December 5, 1939, she attended Balls Ferry School and graduated in 1957 from Wrightsville High School. Ms. Powell was a lifelong resident of Johnson County, attended Wrightsville First United Methodist Church, and retired from Community Bank. She served as a member of the Encourager's Bible Study, Christian Women's Club, and the Pilot Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. (Dub) and Ruby Wood, brothers, William F. Wood and Ernest E. Wood, sister, Kathleen Wood Huggins, and her husband, Robert Wayne Powell. Ms. Powell passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She is survived by her son, Cal Brantley (Kristie), her daughter, Deborah Brantley, and two grandchildren, Callie and Clay Brantley all of Wrightsville. Pallbearers will be Ken Bray, Franklin Wood, Harley Wood, Chip Huggins, Barry Powell, Jeff Powell, Jimmy Blizzard and Ben Attaway. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wrightsville High School Class of 1957 and former banking coworkers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:30 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church c/o Robin Parker 3987 Tucker Grove Church Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096 and to Wrightsville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
