Floyd Collins, 77, of Kite, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.
Born November 17, 1948, in Collins, Georgia, he was the son of the late Clifford Collins and Modrea Hackle Collins. A proud veteran, Floyd honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Washington County Board of Education as a heating and air/electrical technician.
A devout member of New Home Baptist Church in Wrightsville, Georgia, Floyd faithfully served as a deacon and was deeply committed to his faith and church family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like fishing, hunting, and tending his garden. Floyd was known for his steady, generous spirit and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Polly Harrison Collins; two children, Cliff Collins and Sara Collins, both of Kite, Georgia; sisters Minnie Bowers (Larry) of Statesboro, Georgia, Lynette Woodcock (Randy) of Middleburg, Florida, and Sandra Kelshaw (Mike) of LaGrange, Georgia; brother Billy Collins (Tammy) of Collins, Georgia; sister‑in‑law Johnnie Harrison Edge of Wrightsville, Georgia; brother‑in‑law Charles Harrison of Kite, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at New Home Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverends Burton Dixon and Phil Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the church.
Pallbearers will be Ben Collins, Mark Crosby, Blake Deal, Walter Drew, Evan Edge, Bobby Fortner, and Jody Scott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse: Samaritan’s Purse PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
