A Celebration of Life Service for Frank Youngblood, age 72 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. John Drake will officiate.
Mr. Youngblood was born November 23, 1945 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Frank Gaston and Dessie Greenway Youngblood. He was a loving and devoted husband, and his children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he was an active member of ATO fraternity. After college he served several years in the Army National Guard before opening Sports Emporium in 1982. Since that time, he managed several locations and mentored numerous employees. He was a member of the Dublin Exchange Club. Some of the happiest moments of his life were spent volunteering as a coach, where he impacted the lives of many children. He was a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a member of the Soperton United Methodist Church. Mr. Youngblood passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness.
Mr. Youngblood is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carla Purvis Youngblood of Adrian, a daughter, Ashley (Trey) Youngblood Oliver of Adrian, a son, Russell (Rachel) Youngblood of Warner Robins, a sister, Sara Youngblood Richardson of Palmetto, and 3 grandchildren, Davis Oliver, Bryant Oliver, and Ryan Youngblood. In addition, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are past and present Sports Emporium employees and ATO brothers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the funeral home.
