Graveside funeral services for Geneva Weehunt Dykes, age 90 will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Jack Wood will officiate.
Mrs. Dykes was born on February 24, 1927 in Jefferson, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Alexander and Lillie Black Weehunt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leo Edward Dykes, a son Randall Bruce and Larry Weehunt, and a sister, Jean Jones. She was a welder for Southeastern Ship Building Corporation in 1944 during WWII. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Eastman, Georgia. Mrs. Dykes passed away on Friday, November 03, 2017 at Shamrock Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Dykes is survived by her daughter, Phyllis G. (Jack) Wood of Montrose, a sister, Fay Martin of Warner Robins, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friend at the residence of Jack and Phyllis Wood at 1722 Second Street in Montrose.
