Gerrie Tucker Anderson

Funeral services for Gerrie Tucker Anderson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. Paul Thomas will officiate.

Gerrie was born on August 18, 1934, to Myrtle and Clayton Pope in Laurens County, GA and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dublin.

She loved her family and her Lord so dearly and her wonderful friends.

In the 80’s she won the award for Social Worker of the Year for the State of Georgia Nursing Homes. She loved mission work and visited Jamaica twice on mission trips. She loved fishing, dancing and especially gospel singing and bringing a smile to the nursing home residents. Her prayer would be for all her loved ones to trust in our Lord and look forward to a glad reunion.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband's Jimmy Ellington and William J. Tucker.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Daniel (Hugh) of Stone Mountain, Sonny Tucker (Juanita) of Marietta and Kim Caneega (Mark) of Wrightsville; brother, Ben Pope (Mary), grandchildren, Darrell Tucker II (Laura) of Birmingham, Paige Tucker of Augusta, Tyler Tucker of Marietta, Brad Caneega (Lindsay) of Danville, Haley Fincher (Ricky) of Wrightsville; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She loved them all so much.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Tucker II, Tyler Tucker, Brad Caneega, Ricky Fincher, Grayson Fincher and David Horton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
