Gladys Hesters Colson

Graveside funeral services for Gladys Hesters Colson, age 98 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ken Rodgers will officiate. Mrs. Colson was born October 1, 1922 in Hazlehurst, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Ethel Carter Hesters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Franklin Colson, and daughters, Helen Brooks, Evelyn Colson, and Glenda Colson. She was a retired flower designer for Magnolia Flower Shop, Dublin Floral, and Piggy Wiggly Floral Shop. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Colson passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. Mrs. Colson is survived by her daughters, Dee Mitchell of Dublin, and Linda (Gibby) Garrett of Dublin, a sister, Wallene Walters of Ozark, AL, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and very special friend, Danielle Smith. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Colson's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church Youth Group or Integrity Hospice of Dublin. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
