Gladys Foskey

Funeral services for Mrs. Glady Foskey, age 93, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Piney Mount United Methodist Church with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. Jody Martin will officiate. Mrs. Foskey was born May 31, 1921 in Wrightsville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Bennie F. & Alta Marie Carter Carroll, her husband, F.B. (Nin) Foskey, a son, Ronnie Foskey and three brothers, Huey Carroll, Arnold Carroll and Jimmy Carroll. She was a member at Piney Mount United Methodist Church for 83 years, where she served as treasurer and Sunday School teacher and she was a 1938 graduate of Wrightsville High School. She was formerly employed by Creston Knitting Mills and worked at ApparelCraft for 40 years. She also taught school at Piney Mount for many years. Mrs. Foskey passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her residence. She is survived by her son, Floyd (Diann) Foskey of Wrightsville, grandchildren, Shanna Jo Foskey (Clint), Lance (Jessica) Griffith, Chris (Caitlin) Griffith, Alyson Griffith, two great-grandchildren, Brianna Griffith, Maddox Griffith and Dominique Griffith, her brothers, Myrrell (Dorcas) Carroll of Wrightsville, James (Travis) Carroll of Warner Robins and Jack Carroll of Dublin and a sister, Christine (Lanier) Foskey of Warner Robins. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Monday August 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Lance Griffith, Chris Griffith, Ronnie Foskey, Wayne Foskey, Mike Carroll, and Reggie Moore. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
