Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Holton, age 59, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Fred Reece officiating.
Mrs. Holton was born June 22, 1956 in Dublin, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Jimmy Holton, Sr. & Eula Grace Runyon Holton Brantley, her grandparents, Benjamin F. & Carolyn Davis Runyon, Lewis Holton Sr. & Alma May Wright Holton, two husbands, George F. Thompson and Ronnie Carroll Carr, uncles, Royce Holton, Ronnie Holton and Lamar Holton and an aunt, Donna Fay Runyon Sapp. She was a veteran of the United States Army having attained the rank of sergeant serving with A Company 1st Aviation Battalion. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family and grandchildren but had a love of cooking, party planning, camping, hunting, fishing, classical music and art. Mrs. Holton passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home after an extended illness
She is survived by her sons, Wendell Paul (Wendy) Sterling of Kite and Jayson Alex Thompson of Dublin, seven grandchildren, Dylan C. Sterling, Courtney Douglas, Grace S. Sterling, Abigail S. Sterling, Jaydan A. Thompson, Alex L. Thompson and Haiden Moore, her sisters, Brenda Holton O'Mary of Dublin, Lisa Holton of Savannah and Darlene Holton (Lester) Murray of Rincon, her brothers, William (Rochelle) Brantley of Dublin and Jimmy (Michelle) Holton, Jr. of Pembroke, her step-father, Wendell D. Brantley of Dublin, a niece and nephew, Amy & Charles Dorch, uncle & aunt, Pat & Frannie Wilkinson and other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Alligood, Dylan McDaniel, Thomas Tyler, Cecil Hollis, Charles Dorch, Tim Duvall and Gene Hall
