Glenda Hammett Starkey

Funeral services for Glenda Hammett Starkey, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Sandersville Community Church with Rev. Scott Ferguson and Rev. Danny Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Starkey was born on June 28, 1944, in Harrison, Georgia. She retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in 2006 as a Utility Engineer. She was a charter member of the Sandersville Community Church, and she loved her church family. Glenda will be remembered as a loving mom, nana, and friend to everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Rachels; mother, Lizzie Pearl Hooks; brother, Joe Hooks; and husband, Kenn Starkey. Mrs. Starkey passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin White; grandchildren, Jade Burnett (Deandre) and Paige Burnett (Michael); great grandchildren, Khloe Scott, Ezra Lumley and Lydia Garnto; brothers, Tim Burgamy (Sandra) and Jimmy Hooks (Ramona); sister-in-law, Pam Hooks; and lots of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sandersville Community Church, 1 Club Forest Dr, Tennille, GA 31089 in Mrs. Starkey's memory.
