Gloria Daniel Moore

June 10, 1931 — February 20, 2025

Memorial services for Gloria Daniel Moore will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Cedar Grove Methodist Church, 2432 Sudie Pearl Jones Road, Alamo, GA 30411. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Roe will officiate.


Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Col. G. Russell Moore, parents, Lois Clark Daniel and Chester Daniel, four brothers, Bill Daniel, Athens, GA, Speed Daniel, Perry, Ga, Virgil Daniel, Dublin, GA and John Daniel, Warner Robins, GA.


She is survived by her sister, Willouise Hamilton, son, David (Marilyn) Crabb, Conyers, GA, stepdaughter, Debbie (John) Keegan, Pensacola, FL step-son David (Shari) Moore, Palm Bay, FL, grandchildren, Joshua Crabb, Atlanta, GA, Lindsey Cowan, Las Vegas, Ne., Brett (Alex) Crabb, Cartersville, GA, Shawn Moore, Orlando, FL, Jeni Young, Clifton (Stephanie) Hummel-Young and Jason Young, great grandchildren, Shelby Young, Jaycie Young, Lilly Hummel-Young and Issac Hummel-Young, and several nieces and nephews.


Gloria was born and raised in the Cedar Grove community. She lived in McRae several years then moved to Atlanta where she met and married her soul mate, Russell Moore. Russell was a professional musician and when he could no longer play his drums he brought his wife home to her beloved Laurens County. They immediately went to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center to volunteer. They started a gardening program with the veterans. They volunteered there for eight years until Russel lost the vision in his right eye. Both of them loved helping our veterans.


Gloria loved growing things and had a small cut flower business. She was affectionately known as the "The Zinnia Lady".


Honorary pallbearers are the men of Cedar Grove Methodist Church.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of arrangements.
