Funeral services for Grable Lanier Barwick, age 81, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Janice Currie, Rev. Tony Lupton and Rev. Curtis Koscheski will officiate.
Mr. Barwick was born September 2, 1940, in Treutlen County to Otis and Mazie Lee Reese Barwick. Mr. Barwick was a retired self-employed contractor. He was a faithful member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene, having served in various positions and on the church board. He was a kind, tender-hearted man and always was happiest when he was with his family. He was a man of few words but had a huge heart. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Debra Brown, Laverne Johnson and Kathy Barwick; brothers, Jack, Verdie, Bobby, Charles, Emory, and Roger Barwick; son in law, John A. Logan; and a grandson, Ryan Barwick. Mr. Barwick passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Tolbert Barwick; son, Greg (Dannell) Barwick; daughter, Holly (Keith) Foskey all of East Dublin; brothers, Wayne Barwick of East Dublin, James Barwick of East Dublin and Jimmy Barwick of Kite; grandchildren, Blake Barwick, Danni Barwick, Rob Foskey, Shanna (Gatlin) Smalley, and Hunter Foskey; and great grandchildren, Mattee, Lukas and Liam Smalley.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Blake Barwick, Hunter Foskey, Rob Foskey, Andrew Webb, Chaise Donaldson and David Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene R.E.A.C.H. Ministry or to the Graham Memorial Church Building Fund.
