Funeral services for Ms. Grace Wood Harden, age 87, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Nolon McDaniel and Rev. Kevin Tanner will officiate.
Ms. Harden was born on August 3, 1930 in Laurens County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Louis Augustus and Eula Mae McConnell Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford (B.W.) Harden, brother Harris Wood, sisters Joyce Wood and Nell Harden. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Laurens County and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Ms. Harden passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.
Ms. Harden is survived by a daughter Diane (Ed) Young of Dublin, sons Stubbs (Sandy) Harden of Alma and Danny (Gayle) Harden of Dublin, brother Billy (Hazel) Wood of Dublin, sisters Audrey Lovett of Dublin, Ophelia Corbett of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Jo Haynes of Gray, grandchildren Stacy Harden, Stan (Stephanie) Harden, Marci (Jeremy) Matthews, Molli (Kevin) Smith, Mallori (Travis) Patisaul, Matt Young, and Kelly (Scott) Knight, and great grandchildren Coley and Bailey Brantley, Callie Harden, Case and Colt Matthews, Carolyn and Chambliss Smith, Huck and Bent Patisaul, Avery Young, and Harden and Bobby Knight.
Pallbearers will be Coley Brantley, Bailey Brantley, Case Matthews, Colt Matthews, Harden Knight, and Bobby Knight. Her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Serenity Hospice, 504 Parker Dairy Rd., Dublin, GA 31021.
