Gwen Sweat Carter

Funeral services for Gwen Carter, 65, will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sweat officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. Mrs. Carter was born on November 28, 1956, in Dublin, Georgia. She worked as a medical office manager for Dublin OB/GYN Associates. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lois Fulford Sweat. Mrs. Carter passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Fairview Park Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Carter of Wrightsville, a daughter, Jennifer Carter (Damon) Blythe of Greensboro, a son, Ron Carter of Wrightsville, two granddaughters, Ally Blythe and Ella Blythe of Greensboro, brothers, Ray (Jean) Sweat of Meridian, MS and Tony (Dawn) Sweat of Gordon, uncles, Wain Sweat of Wrightsville, Ronnie (Patricia) Sweat of Swainsboro, and Kenneth (Marilyn) Sweat of Wrightsville, aunts, Claudette (Buddy) Brown, Shirley Underwood, and Wilhemenia (Billy) Walden all of Swainsboro, and cousins, Dwain (Lori) Sweat and Donnie (Katy) Sweat of Wrightsville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Donnie Sweat, Dwain Sweat, Kasey Carter, Andy Dixon, Nick Sweat and Mark Dewease. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
