Gwen Mimbs Lee

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Mimbs Lee, age 78, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sammie Newsome and Rev. Alan Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Foskey Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee was born on January 31, 1948, in Dublin, Georgia. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Thelma Foskey Mimbs and her two brothers, Nolan Mimbs and Gary Mimbs. She retired from the Community Bank of Wrightsville. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful church member of Powells Chapel Church. She loved her family and the Lord. She loved to cook for all occasions and enjoyed fishing and going to the mountains. Mrs. Lee passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Sammy Lee of Kite; daughter, Kathy Lee of Kite; son, Tim (Holly) Lee of Kite; brother, Mickey (Marie) Mimbs of Wrightsville; three sisters-in-law, Faye Mimbs of Wrightsville, JoAnn Mimbs of Dublin and Lynn Lee of Kite; granddaughter, Hannah Lee of Kite and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian Mimbs, Lee Mimbs, Payton Mimbs, Matthew Lee, Alan Frost and Troy Boulineau. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Powells Chapel Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
