Harold Leonard Channell

Funeral services for Harold Leonard Channell, age 84 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2026, in the Richard N. Stanley, III Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Tabernacle Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Andy Yates and Rev. Jerry Phillips will officiate.

Mr. Channell was born September 17, 1941, in Miami, Florida. He was the son of the late Leonard Rufus Channell and Clara Jean Kelpin Channell. He was also preceded in death by his son, Andy Eugene Channell. He was retired in Communications from the United States Army. He worked for 35 years with Georgia Natural Gas Company. He worked for East Gas Company for 9 years and then eventually worked for himself working in the gas business for many years. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He was also a member of Kiwanis, and the Easter Seals. Mr. Channell passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Dublin Trails in Dublin.

Mr. Channell is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Channell of Wrightsville; a son, Mike Channell (Ellen) of Wrightsville; a brother, Bruce Channell (Glenda) of Canton; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Price, Bruce Deal, Sammy Mullier, Joe Hartley, Terry Bertoch, and Larry Waters.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2026 at the funeral home.

In lieu flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mount Moriah Baptist Church at 1183 Mt. Moriah Road, Tennille, Georgia 31089.
