Harold Pearce Hunter, Sr passed into his forever home and stood before Jesus on April 8, 2023 and there, in fulfillment of the greatest desires of his last days, he joined in a great reunion with his parents, Charles Frederick and Susie Florence Hunter; his in-laws, Ernest Claude and Christine Joiner Estes; his brothers Charles Nuburn, Jack Ronald, David Frederick, and Joseph Herman Hunter, and his sisters-in-law Ethelene and Lilly Hunter. Harold left this earth confident in the unending love of his wife of 61 years, Peggy Estes Hunter, and in the great depth and strength of the legacy that they created together; 4 children and their spouses: Harold Pearce Hunter Jr and Lauren, Renee Hunter Holloway and Chris, Sherry Hunter Stoichev and Tsvetan, Rhonda Hunter Crane and Chris; 9 grandchildren and their spouses and fiancés: Amanda (Mandy) Popham Brooks and Jeremy, Hunter Ray Popham, Victoria (Tori) Elizabeth Singletary, Victor (Alex) Alexander Stoichev, Isabella (Bella) Maria Stoichev, Sophia (Sophie) Christina Stoichev, Ethan Christopher Dominy and Gabriela, Hudson Ellis Dominy, and Lillian (Lilly) Faye Crane; and 3 great grandchildren: Katelyn Michelle Hines, Cali Michelle Patrick, and Travis Kash Brooks. In addition, because the door to his home was always open to friends, to family, and to wanderers alike, Harold was a role model and pillar to his "Bulgarian son" Nikolay (Nik) Dimitrov and wife Julia, to sister and brothers-in-law, and to countless nieces and nephews.
Harold was born on February 2, 1940, in the pine forests of Appling County just outside Surrency and lived an epic life filled with dedicated faith, hard work, soul-renewing play, stories, laughter, new comings and home goings, gatherings, celebrations, and family and family and more family. He loved deeply and was deeply loved by his family and his family's friends, his staff of friends, his clients, his church family, and any other crossing his path. He never met a stranger.
