Memorial services for Helen Lucille Dean, age 81, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 22, 2021 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Tanner officiating. A livestream video will be available on the Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page during the service.
Mrs. Dean was born on August 13, 1939 in Del Norte, Colorado and resided in Laurens County for over 20 years. Helen enjoyed playing the bass guitar and fiddle for several country, gospel, and blue grass bands. She was a member of Dublin Boot Scooters, the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Leather Guild. She attended Rock Springs and White Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Clara Grooms, brother Charles W. "Bud" Grooms, and sisters Peggy Ann Grooms, Rosemary Elain Entz, and Vickie Rompel. Mrs. Dean passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at her home.
She is survived by her children Jake E. Dean (Tammy) of Rentz, Walter P. Dean (Tara), Elbert Odin Dean (Sharon), and Herbert Eric Dean (Amy), all of Colorado, and Edith Mae Dean Colclasure (Pete) of Arkansas, a bunch of grandchildren and a herd of great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from Monday from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect and mask will be required by those attending as we are following the COVID guidelines of the local health district and the CDC.
