Henral Jean Byrne

March 28, 1932 — December 27, 2017

Henral Jean Kyzer Byrne entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, December 27th from the comfort of her den with a fire in the fireplace, a treasured home that she and her husband, JW, established together in love. Soon into their marriage, Jean and JW moved to Augusta and then Aiken where they have resided for 60 years. As JW became involved in the community through the Chamber of Commerce and Aiken Rotary Club, Jean served as President of the Evergreen Garden Club, co-chair for the Ladies Heart Board Tea, and was a member of the Town and Country Club where she enjoyed riding horses and learning to bowl. Jean was an active member of Millbrook Baptist Church. She served as a member of the renovation committee for the old sanctuary, she taught VBS, served on the Cradle Roll and Millbrook Flower committee. She spent many late nights decorating the living Christmas Tree. Through their community and business they built forever friendships. They enjoyed the company of friends so much they vacationed together and for years after laughed and reminisced over the memories. They were awarded the opportunities to travel throughout Europe through the businesses they co-owned; House of Suits, Byrnes of Aiken Furniture and Aiken Furniture Company. Jean and JW loved their home and yard. When a family member or friend had a new home or yard, they were both there with their home rooted azaleas; now years later still adding so much beauty to many homes. In addition to her beloved parents, Henry Malachi and Alma Lee Oliver Kyzer of Wrightsville, Georgia, Jean was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years, Joseph William (JW) Byrne. There are also many special family members that greeted Jean on Wednesday at Heaven's gate. Jean is survived by her family; sons Rick William Byrne (Dolores) of Dublin, GA and Kim Craig Byrne (Stephanie) of Aiken and daughters Dawn Krista Bostic (Geoff) and Robin Cheryl Byrne (Steve Cox) both of Aiken. She and JW were so proud of each of their seven grandchildren, Melanie Leigh Byrne-Hamer, Tara Byrne Coghill, Dennis Wayne Byrne (Beth), Jennifer Yaeko Hall (Travis), William Henry Byrne, Heather Erin Bostic, and Joseph Dylan Bostic. Their ten great grandchildren are what fill many of the picture frames throughout the family home; Denton Hamer, Benjamin Coghill, Leighton Hamer, Alexandria Coghill, Brighton Hamer, Tyler Hall, Aaron Casteel, Landon Hall, Colton Hall, and Luke Byrne. Jean leaves three brothers and their wives whom she adored; Marklin Fay Kyzer, Donald R. (Wanda) Kyzer, and Oliver F. (Jan) Kyzer. JW's remaining siblings, Jack (Geneva) Byrne of Sebring, Florida and Myra Byrne Westbrook of Sandersville, Georgia were also dear and close to Jean's heart. The family would like to send special thanks to Evan Evans and the ladies from Regency Hospice of Aiken for their kindness and support towards her and the family. The family will visit with family and friends beginning at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel with services following at 2:00 pm in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel. A special friend of the family, Todd M. Spencer will officiate the service. The burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville, Georgia. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to charities and causes that were important to JW and Jean: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148-0142, Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
