Henry Alfred Hughes, Iii

Mr. Henry Alfred Hughes, III age 75 passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Mr. Hughes lived in Laurens County for the past 46 years having moved here from Statesboro and was a member of Rentz Baptist Church. He was a retired computer programmer, a graduate of Georgia Southern College, and worked for YKK, Morris State Bank, Oconee EMC, and Kaliko Brothers. He enjoyed projects around the house, gospel music, playing golf with his wife, keeping close watch on financial news and politics, and loved all cats that he rescued. Mr. Hughes was born on March 24, 1944 in Florala, Alabama and was preceded in death by his parents Henry Alfred Hughes, Jr. and Margaret Buie Hughes. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Myrick Hughes of Dexter, by his sister Ann Hughes of Rentz, and by his uncle William Buie of Rentz. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dublin Laurens Humane Society, 618 Firetower Road, Dublin, Georgia 31021. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
