Herman "Humbug" Sweat

Funeral services for Mr. Herman "Humbug" Sweat, age 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. T. Manuel Johnson and Rev. Bunny Hudson will officiate. Mr. Sweat was born October 17, 1931 in Oconee, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Willie Barney Sweat and Loree Hammock Sweat and a sister, Marie Sweat Hammock. He owned/operated his own dump truck for 50 years before retiring. Mr. Sweat passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Thelma Dixon Sweat, two sons, Todd (Margaret) Sweat and Brad Sweat, a grandson, Tyler Todd Sweat all of Wrightsville, brothers, Ronny (Patricia) Sweat of Swainsboro, Willie (Lois) Sweat, Wain (Jean) Sweat and Kenneth (Marilyn) Sweat all of Wrightsville, sisters, Burma Sweat Pacetti of Fort Myers, FL, Claudette Sweat (Buddy) Brown, Shirley Sweat (Lester) Underwood and Wilhelmina Sweat (Billy) Walden all of Swainsboro. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dwain Sweat, Donnie Sweat, Cliff Dixon, Andy Dixon, Wendell Walden and Lewis Akridge. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
