Hilrey Ivey

Funeral services for Mr. Hilrey M. Ivey, age 89, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Robert Rathbun and Mr. Michael Bland will officiate. Mr. Ivey was born February 25, 1926 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late John Quincey Ivey & Ethel Reese Ivey, a brother, J.Q. Ivey and a sister, Sarah Watkins. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. For 16 years he was employed by J.P. Stevens & Company before eventually retiring from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Woodmen of the World and the Moore's Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Ivey passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Ivey and a son, Mike Ivey both of Wrightsville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
