Hubbard Rhodes Bowen, Sr.

A memorial service for Mr. Hubbard Rhodes Bowen, Sr., age 87, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Janice Laster officiating. Mr. Hubbard was born June 29, 1927 in Windsor, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Lloyd Irving Bowen and Lucy Gray Holder Bowen, his wife, Janice Jones Bowen, a sister, Dorothy McCarty and two brothers, Irving Holder Bowen and Thomas Holder Bowen. He was a self-employed salesman and was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army. Mr. Bowen passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. He is survived by his sons, Hubbard (Sonny) Bowen, Jr. of Tennessee, Charles (Chuck) & Gloria Bowen of Dublin, Carey Dale & Debbie Bowen of San Antonio, TX and Donald (Donnie) & Lisa Bowen of Dublin, four brothers, George & Nelda Bowen of North Carolina, Millard Bowen of New York, Jimmy & Diane Bowen of Florida and Claude & Faye Bowen of North Carolina, a sister, Syble Meeks of North Carolina, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church.
