Graveside funeral services for Huey Greg Canady, age 72 will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Nate Dooley and Rev. Matt Haywood will officiate.
Mr. Canady was born May 29, 1953, in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Merideth Drexel Canady. He worked for the Dublin City School System and retired from the Laurens County School System. He was a Special Ed Teacher, Coach, and Administrator. He coached the 1996 and 1997 Irish Girls Softball State Championship teams. He also worked as a Bailiff for the Laurens County Courthouse, and a Poll Worker at the Registrar’s Office and the voting precinct. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Liberty Church. Mr. Canady passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Canady is survived by his wife, Billie Ann Canady of Dudley; his mother, Betty Outlaw Canady of East Dublin; a son, Bo (Angela) Canady of Perry; a daughter, April (Max) Nolan of Paso Robles, CA; a sister, Kathy Canady (Steve) Warnock of Macon; 2 brothers, Shannon (Krystal) Canady of Montrose and Shawn Canady of East Dublin; 5 grandchildren, Taylor Harper, Cal Nolan, Conner Nolan, Natalie Kate Nolan, Haleigh (Justin Burke) Albritton; 2 great-grandchildren, Wren and Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Davis, Tim Myers, John Myers, Clay Hall, Davy Outlaw, and Dwayne Outlaw.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the compassionate care we received from Georgia Hospice Care and the family would like to extend many thanks for the compassionate care we have received from Ashley Vickers, Bailey Cannon, RN and team at Georgia Hospice Care, Rachel Singletary, PA and her team, Hawkinsville Health Care and Liberty Church Family.
