Inez Lindsey Veal

Funeral services for Inez Lindsey Veal, age 87, will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. James Veal, Rev. Inez was born in the New Home Community of Johnson County, Georgia, on October 16, 1936, to her parents, Arlie D. Lindsey and Melinda Price Lindsey. She was a life-long resident of Johnson County and was preceded in death by the love of her life, Tobie Veal, for 66 years. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ostell Lindsey, Alice Reece, Lonnie Spivey, Artie Dell Blizzard, and Betty Bush.

She worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau in earlier years. She was a member and faithful worker at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for most of her life.

Inez was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was also a talented cook and a master seamstress. Her sense of humor and her fun-lobing personality contributed to her whimsical collections. She is perhaps best known for her heart of gold and her ability to love with all her might. Ms. Veal passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Greenwood Place.

She is survived by 3 sons, Hugh (Jerri) Veal of Wrightsville, James Veal of Arlington, TX and Bruce (Rachel) Veal of Wrightsville, sister, Eveline Schneller (Norm) of McDonough, grandchildren, Christa McLeod, Harris (Elizabeth) Veal, Tyler (Caroline) Veal, Dan Sikes, Charissa (Britt) Sangster, Kevin Veal and great grandchildren Sailer Veal, Tobie Veal, Timothy Sangster, and Meridith Sangster.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. on Monday prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Dan Sikes, Kevin Veal, Donald Blizzard, Ralph Veal, Robert Veal, and Alan Kyzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Helen Rowland, Veal Moorman, Van Moorman, and her nephews.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
