Iris Fordham Hobbs

Iris Fordham Hobbs, born Dec. 2, 1928, died early Thursday morning, January 21st. Iris was the daughter of the late Bennie Terrell Fordham and Mary Etta Brown Fordham Nix. She lived in the Laurens County area for most of her life. She was a member of Marie Baptist Church until moving to the Baptist Village in Waycross, Ga. Later she moved to LaGrange, Ga and was a resident at Poplar Creek Assisted Living. Survivors include two sons: Edsel David Hobbs and wife, Catherine Key Hobbs of LaGrange, Georgia and their children Tiffany Brooke del Angel, her husband, Jorge, with children, Madison and Kendall.; Brittany Nicole Hutchinson, husband Spencer, with their children, Crawford and Hollis. All reside in LaGrange. Donald Phillip Hobbs and wife, Patrice Wehner Hobbs of Ellijay, Georgia and their 2 children, Bryan Joshua Hobbs and wife, Ashlee, with son Liam who live in Cumming Georgia. Also, Kristen Alicia Phillippie and husband, Ryan of Gainesville, Georgia, Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Hutto, pastor of Marie Baptist Church and Rev. Jason Hobbs (nephew of Iris) from Bonaire, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Marie Baptist Church Building Fund, 315 Marie Church Road, Dublin, GA. 31021. The family will have a private graveside service on Sunday, January 24th at 2 pm. Stanley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
