Graveside funeral services for Jack W. Colston, age 84 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. Rev. W.L. Currie will officiate. Mr. Colston was born September 7, 1936, in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late C.T. and Eliza Moore Colston. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Josh Colston, a brother, C.T. Colston, a sister, Mary Jane Turner, and a half sister, Eloise Attaway. He was a retired Sgt. 1st Class Army Veteran where he served in Korea, Vietnam, and done three tours in Germany. He was a member of Central Drive Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was a former Deacon at Oakland Baptist Church in Petersburg, Va. He was a Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge Powhatan Stark Lodge #124 in Petersburg, VA. He was a member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge #243 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was a avid hunter and fisherman, and a dear friend to so many. Mr. Colston passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Colston is survived by his wife, Virginia Colston; 2 sons, Gordon Michael (Tina) Colston, and Jerry Lee (Gina) Colston; and 5 grandchildren, Camron Colston, Cullen (Valerie) Colston, Garrett Colston, Griffin Colston, and Duncan Colston. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of arrangements.
