James David Carey, Jr.

James David Carey, Jr, age 49, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Fairview Park Hospital. Mr. Carey was born on May 6, 1971 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late James David Carey Sr. and Martha Briggs Kaplan. David worked as a farm manager for Grey Coat Creek Farms. He was a member of Oaky Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Carey of Wrightsville, his son, James Nicholas (Chazz) Carey of Wrightsville, his stepchildren, Jordan Cox of Wrightsville and Morgan Cox of Shellman Bluff, his sisters, Susan Claxton of Wrightsville and Dianna Peters of Tybee Island, his step-grandchildren, Keyton Lane Walker and Jaelynn Grace Walker. A private memorial service was held in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Humane Society. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
