James Fred Garner

Memorial services for James Fred Garner, age 73 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 28, 2020 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. David Pohto will officiate. Mr. Garner was born June 20, 1947 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late James Arlie and Vera Davis Garner. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Neta Buscher and Waudena Simons. He served in the United States Army. He was retired from the State of Georgia Mental Health. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Garner passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Southland Nursing Home and Rehab. Mr. Garner is survived by his loving wife, Linda Garner of Dublin, a son, Jimmy (Sharon) Garner of Dublin, a daughter, Laurie Garner of Savannah, 2 sisters, Shelia Mallory of Dublin, and Rita Scarboro of Dublin, and a grandchild, Caleb Garner of Dublin. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:30 P.M. Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory staff ask that all in attendance to follow mandated social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
