James "Jimmie" Jackson Wyatt, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. James "Jimmie" Jackson Wyatt, Jr., age 92 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Marie Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Gary Carter and Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate. Mr. Wyatt was born on August 13, 1925 and is a native of Laurens County, Georgia. He was the son of the late James J. Wyatt, Sr. and Bessie Raffield Wyatt. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Kelley Wyatt, Sr., Joyce Wyatt Brantley, and Evelyn Wyatt McCarty. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was retired after 42 years of service at J.P. Stevens and Company. Jimmie enjoyed farming all his life and growing a vegetable garden which he shared with the community. During the fall he enjoyed making sugar cane syrup with family and friends. He was a member of Marie Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. Mr. Wyatt passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Wyatt is survived by his loving wife for over 69 years, Betty V. Wyatt of Dublin, 3 sons, Jim (Martha) Wyatt of Dublin, Randy Wyatt of Dublin, Bobby (Paula) Wyatt of Dublin, 1 daughter, Beth (Eddie) Bozeman, of Dublin, 9 grandchildren, Jamie (Nathan) Kirkman, John Wyatt, Adam Wyatt, Cole Wyatt, Lauren (Josh) David, Chad Wyatt, Andy (Christy) Bozeman, Ben Bozeman, and Sarabeth Bozeman, special friends of the family, Randy and Lynn Rountree, Coyt Rountree, and Morgan Maine, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Andy Bozeman, Ben Bozeman, Chad Wyatt, Adam Wyatt, Cole Wyatt, and Coyt Rountree. Honorary Pallbearers will be Men's Sunday School Class at Marie Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the funeral home. The family will also be meeting at the home of Mr. Wyatt at 166 Wyatt Road, Dublin, GA 31021. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Jimmie Wyatt to Marie Baptist Church at 315 Marie Church Road, Dublin, Georgia 31021 or to Guido Ministries at 600 North Lewis Street, Metter, GA 30439. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
