Funeral services for James "Jimmy" W. Mills, Sr., age 77, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Steven Beck and Rev. Brad Nowell will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Mills was born September 3, 1944, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents Broadus M. and Helen Mills, and his siblings Roger Mills, Doug Mills, Dwight Mills, Phillip Mills and Charles Mills. James was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired cabinet maker for Evans Cabinet Co. and was retired owner of Mills Custom Cabinets. He was a member of Dexter Assembly of God. James loved his family, loved his Lord and loved to fellowship with his church, family and friends. James passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Violet Mills of Cadwell, two sons Richie (Loraine) Currie of Dublin and Jamie (Sharon) Mills of Rockledge, daughter Tina (Alan) Myers of Dexter, brother Ronnie Mills of Greenville, SC, sister Diane Mills of Travelers Rest, SC, grandchildren Meagan Gay, Colby Myers, Kyle Currie, Kirsten Currie, Kate Price, Trey Mills and Payne Mills and great grandchildren Keagan Gay, Bray Gay, Bo Myers and Brody Myers.
Pallbearers will be Trey Mills, Kyle Currie, Colby Myers, Cam Gay, Clay Hughes and Hunter Price.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
