It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Sikes, who left this world on September 19,2026, at the age of 49.
James was born on June 17th 1977. He was the middle child of three. James was born in Dallas Texas and relocated to Dublin Ga in 1988 which he made his hometown.
James was happily married to the love of his life, Cheryl, for 29 years. James was a proud Father to his two children, Katelynne and Jerry, and an even prouder Papa to his seven grandchildren. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and the love he had for each of them will live on through the memories they shared.
Preceded in death by his grandfather Toliver Brisco, Uncle James Brisco, his brother Louis Gibbins, cousins Wendy Winkles and Time Winkles.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Sikes; his parents, Bill and Debbie Gibbins, his grandmother Wanda Brisco, His daughter, Katelynne Hayes (Adam); His son, Jerry Sikes (Katlyn); His 7 grandchildren Hunter, McKali, Tristan, Aerolynn, Aspen, Andi, and Atlee. Brother, Eric Sikes. Sisters; Brendianne Sikes (Linton); Tabitha Ball (Jeremy) Mia Ligget (Mark). Along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was an amazing man whose greatest joy in life was his family. He was hardworking, loving and devoted. He never hesitated to support the people he loved. James was the kind of man who could always be counted on. He worked hard to provide for his family and took great pride in the lives he helped build. His love was steady, his heart was generous, and his presence brought comfort and strength to those around him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the funeral home.
