James Tony Tanner

Graveside funeral services for James Tony Tanner, age 68, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in Westview Cemetery with Rev. Brian Welch officiating. Mr. Tanner was born on January 17, 1953 in Sandersville, Georgia. Tony was a graduate of the University of Georgia and worked as a Lab Technician for Imerys for 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Roy Tanner and Doris Brantley Tanner. Mr. Tanner passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Sue Welch Tanner of Wrightsville, son Thomas Tanner (Jessica) of Wrightsville, daughter Rebekah Reddish (Michael) of Swainsboro, grandsons Gavin Reddish and Connor Reddish of Swainsboro, brother Ken Tanner (Debra) of Wrightsville, and nieces Renae Tanner and Heather Tanner Holt of Wrightsville. Pallbearers will be Billy Bryan, Tyler Holt, William Avant, Wendell Brantley, Frank Brantley, Tim Phillips, Toby Mask and Jimmy Ray Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
