James Eldridge Blair Taylor was born on December 26, 1933, in Huntington, West Virginia. He was the son of James Eldridge Paul Taylor and Garnet Julia Taylor.
James was married to Edith Mae (Jones)Taylor from January 1959 until her passing in March 2024.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from October 1955 to September 1959. Following his military service, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service from August 1963 to April 1967. He then began a distinguished career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Savannah, Georgia, where he served as a Civil Engineer from April 1967 until his retirement in May 1998.
James was a graduate of Marshall University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
He is survived by his son, Michael Blair Taylor; daughter-in-law, Lisa G. Taylor; brother, Larry Taylor; and nephew, Rick Taylor. James will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his long career in civil engineering.
James passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Addington Place of Dublin.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Savannah.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
