James O. West

Funeral services for Mr. James O. West, age 88, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkinson County. Rev. Greg Soles will officiate. Mr. West was born November 28, 1928 in McRae, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, James Hollis West and Ruth Green West, his first wife, Ruthie Dean West, a sister, Ruthie Mae McCranie and a brother, J.T. West. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict while serving with the United States Navy. He was a member of Snowhill Community Church and served as a Mason for over 50 years with Red Hill Masonic Lodge #535. He retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Mr. West passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife. Sara Jo West of East Dublin, two sons, James Morris West of East Dublin and Darrell Lynn West of Glenwood, a daughter, Lou Jan (Wayne) Scott of Riverview, FL, a brother, Jonathan (Lillian) West of Dover, FL, three step-children, Phillip Dewayne White of East Dublin, Michael Kemp (Sandra) White of The Woodlands, TX and Sandra Faye (Danny) Paul of East Dublin, seven grandchildren, Gregory Scott, Monica Scott Wetherington, Katie DeMassi, Rebecca West, Jennifer Brown, Amy Fields and Lisa Newton Flowler and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
