Janice A Butler

Funeral services for Janice Amerson Butler, age 81 will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ray Harris will officiate. Mrs. Butler was born on January 14, 1933 in Alamo, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Tom Harris and Betty Lavada Purvis Amerson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bryant Butler. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of Cedar Grove Civic Center. She was retired from Uniroyal. Mrs. Butler passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Dublinair Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughter, Janet Owens of Cedar Grove, a son, Rusty (Tammy) Butler of Cedar Grove, 2 grandchildren, Carlie (Nick) Dominy, and Candice (Keith) Claxton, and 2 great grandchildren, Makalyn Claxton, and Bryston Claxton. Pallbearers will be Joey Amerson, Jimmy Starley, Bill Starley, Randy Amerson, Danny Ward, Toby Amerson, and Tim Amerson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
