Memorial services for Mrs. Janie F. Smith, age 65 will held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the First Christian Church. Rev. Billy Glosson will officiate. Mrs. Smith was born on January 13, 1950 in Kite, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Jay and Pauline McCoy Mason. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was employed at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. She served in the United States Army. Mrs. Smith passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Ron Smith of East Dublin, a daughter, Shannon Walker of East Dublin, a step daughter, Miki Smith of PA, 6 brothers, Grabel Mason of McRae, Danny Mason of Swainsboro, Howard Mason of Swainsboro, Wayne Mason of Swainsboro, Paul Mason of Swainsboro, and JR. Mason of Swainsboro, 2 sisters, Linda Mason of Kite, and Patsy Colston of Kite, 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Walker, and Paige McKinzie Walker, and 2 great grandchildren, Jaden McKinzie, and Briarlynn Parker. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory to the First Christian Church at 302 Mimosa Drive, Dublin, Georgia 31021 or to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
