Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Carter, age 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Pine Hill Holiness Church with burial to follow at Piney Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Charles Parrish will officiate.
Mrs. Carter was born February 23, 1938 in Nashville, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Clarence Lee Selph and Mary Ellen Hancock Selph and her husband, Cauley Lanier "Buster" Carter. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she loved being around others. She was a member of Pine Hill Holiness Church and was retired as a supervisor from Crowntex. Mrs. Carter passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017.
She is survived by two sons, Carl (Connie) Carter and Tony Carter both of Wrightsville, two daughters, Linda Renfroe of Wrightsville and Cassandra "Sandy" (Gary) Burgamy of Dublin, 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Benji Luecke, Thomas Blackburn, Phillip Boatright, Sonny Sumner, Charlie Claxton, Johnny Scarborough, Jonathan Parrish, Joel Carter and Pat Oxford.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
