Jean Williams Couey, age 93, passed away this week at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Laurens County, Georgia October 8, 1931, to the late John H. and Assenith Williams. Jean was married in 1946 to O C Couey. They were married 63 years before his death in 2009. She is predeceased by her husband, nine siblings and a baby daughter Lynn. Jean was a member of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene. She was gloriously saved in 1954 and was active in the church for as long as her health allowed.
Jean is survived by her three children, Glenda Couey Garnto, Eddie (Cathy) Couey and Brad Couey, four grandchildren, Wendy (Daniel) Owens, Erin Thompson, Brooke (Bobby) Hancock and Rebekah Couey, five great-grandchildren Emmalee (Glen) Jones, Ivy and Jackson Thompson, Bennett and Brady Hancock, two great-great grandchildren, Gracie and Emmie Jones, numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Her nephews are requested to act as active and honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living and Remarkable Hospice for the care compassion for their momma.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 1045 a.m. Saturday, November 30th at Stanley Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Northview Cemetery with Rev. Don Hicks officiating.
