Funeral services Mr. Jerry O. Claxton, age 68, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Richard N. Stanley Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. James Tanner will officiate Mr. Claxton was born May 28, 1950 in Dublin, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Lamar Claxton and Carrie Bell Blount Claxton, three brothers, Lovett Claxton, Vic Claxton and Jimmy Claxton and a sister, Carolyn Logue He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer and was formerly employed for 30 years with J.P. Stevens & Forstmann. Mr. Claxton passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Patsy S. Claxton of Wrightsville, two daughters, Amber (Mitch) Hall of Wrightsville and Tammy L. Marsh of Bartow and two grandchildren, Ayden Jacob Hall and Kynley Shae Hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tommy Logue, Neil Claxton, Clay Claxton, Jim Claxton, David Claxton and Tyler Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby McAfee, Artie Claxton, Carmen Caneega and Danny Logue. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
