Jerry C. Price

Funeral services for Jerry C. Price, age 88, will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home, Wrightsville, GA with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bill Ricketts and Tim Price will officiate. Mr. Price passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Ascensions St. Vincent's Hospital in Middleburg, Florida.

Mr. Price was born on October 25,1935 in Johnson County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father Emanuel Bridges Price Jr., his mother Lottie Jones Stanford, son Jerry Mark Price and sister Betty Joyce Lawrence. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Jones Price of 69 years of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Lisa (Bill) Rester of Jacksonville, FL and daughter-in-law Jean Price of Oconee County, GA. Brothers; Wendell (Peggie) Price and EB Price III. Grandchildren; David (Lori) Price, Tiffany (Rob) Leach, Stacey (Roger) Partain, Levi (Sarah) Whitfield. Jennifer (Matt) Winslette, Teri (Nick) Williams and Lynsey Rester. 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. Special friends for 50 plus years, Harry and Betty Ruth Welch. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Price retired from Southern Bell after almost 34 years of service. He was active in the Telephone Pioneers after retirement. He then opened a Photography studio for 20 years. He served our country in the Air National Guard for over 12 years. Jerry served as a Deacon in churches in Dublin, Valdosta, Albany and Athens. He worked with the youth groups in both Dublin and Valdosta as well as serving where needs arose within the church. At the time of his death, he was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, Bogart, GA. To his family and others, he was and will always be known as "Poppy".

Pallbearers will be Levi Whitfield, David Price, Rob Leach, Roger Partain, Nick Williams and Matt Winslette.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
