Mr. Jimmie Frank Brown, age 78 of Tower Road, Martin passed away April 16, 2023 at his residence.


A son of the late Frank and Opal Brown of North Charleston, South Carolina, he was born February 2, 1945 in Wrightsville, Georgia.


He was a retired Air Force veteran, an active member of Gideon International, and enjoyed participating with the local Singing Saints as well as a loving member of Martin Baptist Church. He was proud to tell anyone that would listen that he had 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with one on the way this coming November.


Survivors include his children Sherry Brown Conley (Dennis), Joseph Martin Brown, and Melinda Brown Enloe (Tony) who live in Martin; a sister Linda Brown Webb (Troy) of Fayetteville, GA; a brother Danny Brown (April) of Hendersonville, NC; and a sister Debbie Brown of Summerville, SC, as well as nephews, nieces and cousins he loved.


His wife Shirley Garnto Brown, from Wrightsville, Georgia, followed him in passing shortly after on April 22, 2023 at their residence after a long illness. He lovingly cared for her for many years saying it was a privilege to do so.


A celebration of life service will be held at Martin Baptist Church on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Gideons International, Stephens County Gideons, P.O. Box 663, Toccoa, Georgia 30577, to spread the gospel to the world, a cause that Jimmie was very passionate about and supported with love.


Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jimmie Frank Brown.
