Joe Wilkes

Funeral services for Joe Wilkes, age 86 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Oak Dale Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. W.L. Currie will officiate. Mr. Wilkes was born on November 28, 1928 in Soperton, Georgia. He was the son of the late Alfonzo and Katie Phillips Wilkes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice C. Wilkes. He was self-employed as a Farmer and Cement Plasterer. He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church where served as a Deacon. Mr. Wilkes passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Serenity Place . Mr. Wilkes is survived by his 2 sons, Joey Wilkes of Dublin, and Mike Wilkes of Myrtle Beach, SC, 2 daughters, Judi Angulo of Dublin, and Patti Marchetti of Plantation, FL, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joe Burch, Reggie Faulk, Kenny Faulk, Jimmy Butler, Joe Burch, Chad Burch,and Henry Purvis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gamble Shannon, Kenny Mullis, Andy Joe Amerson, and Ron Harrington. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Wilkes to Serenity Place at 504 Parker Dairy Road, Dublin, GA 31021. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
