Funeral service for John Tyler Bridges, age 30, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brad Poucher, Rev. Dee Walker, and Mr. Mel Tripp officiating.
Mr. Bridges was born on June 5, 1993, in Sacramento, California. He was a 2011 graduate of East Laurens High School and was a member of the FFA. He was a firefighter for Laurens County Fire Department. He had a servant's heart and loved serving his family, friends and the community. Mr. Bridges passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Hannah Elizabeth Bridges of Rockledge; his two children, Colton Bridges and Cason Bridges of Rockledge; parents, John David and Shannon Renee Bridges of Dublin; siblings, Courtney Bridges Ellerbee (Josh) of Dublin and Kaleigh Townsend (Jay) of Wrightsville; grandparents, Charles and Connie Scarbrough of Monroe, LA; great grandmother, Mary Dean Scarbrough of Monroe, LA; aunts and uncles, Steve and Patty Bridges of Alabama, Shane and Naomi Scarbrough of Monroe, LA; other mother, Tonia Evans (Clay) of Cedar Grove; father-in-law, Derrell Lee Holt (Bonnie) of Dublin; brother-in-law, Lane Holt of Cedar Grove; nephew, Truman Townsend of Wrightsville; and extended family members, Josh Harden of Rockledge, Donovan Cooper of East Dublin, and Sean Fulghum of Wrightsville.
Pallbearers will be Warren Sapp, Nick Bush, Jay Townsend, Josh Harden, Donovan Cooper and Sean Fulghum.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for "The Bridges Family" with Farmers State Bank.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
