John Walter Price

Funeral services for John Walter Price, age 70, will be held at 3:00 P.M., October 29, 2023, at Liberty Grove Baptist with Rev. Sammy Hall and Rev. Clint Sellars officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Price was born on November 15, 1952, in Dublin, Ga and was a retired small engine repairman. He was a former member of the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed fishing, listening to vinyl records, and refinishing antiques. He cherished any occasion that allowed him to gather with family and friends. He was a devoted husband for 52 years, a loving father to his girls, a proud grandfather and great grandfather. Walter's love for the Lord led him to be a faithful deacon at Liberty Grove Baptist Church where he diligently served the Lord in various ministries within his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie Ostell and Loree Horton Price and his sister, Sandra Carter. Walter passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wynn Price of Tennille; 2 daughters, Renee Price Kicklighter (Charlie) of Martinez and Erica Price Hammock (Dave) of Harrison; sister, Tommy Jean Pope (Junior) of Wrightsville; 2 brothers, Tony Price (Daryl) of Wrightsville and Floyd Price (Sandra) of Adrian; brother-in law, Dale Carter of Wrightsville; grandson, Kyle Hammock (Katie); and 3 great grandchildren, Harper Hammock, Theo Hammock, and Maddux Hammock.

Pallbearers will be Franklin Carter, Barry Pope, Morgan Wynn, Derek Horton, Jim Musselwhite and Stacy Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1:45 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. on Sunday at Liberty Grove Baptist Church.
