Johnnie Ray Thompson

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Ray Thompson, age 86, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bobby Hutto officiating. Mr. Thompson was born December 11, 1930 in Laurens County; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Johnnie Franklin Thompson and Geneva Couey Thompson and his wife, Alice Jones Thompson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from J.P. Stevens and Company as a supervisor. Mr. Thompson passed Monday, February 20, 2017. He is survived by his son, Johnnie (Kim) Thompson of Dublin, a daughter, Kris Penly of Dublin, a sister, Frances Graham (Lowell Guess) of Dublin, five grandchildren, Gracie Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Hope Thompson, Nathan Bude and Kaleb Penly and two great-grandchildren, Alex Bude and Charlie Bude. Pallbearers will be Al Kimbell, Andy Kimbell, Tommy Graham, Ken Graham, Eric Young and Quint Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks, that donations, in memory of Mr. Thompson, be made to the Marie Baptist Church Building Fund, 315 Marie Church Road, Dublin, Georgia 31021. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
