Joseph Lamar Gemes

Joseph Lamar Gemes passed away on June 28,2017 after a brief illness and was most recently a resident of Addington Place in Dublin, Georgia. He was born on October 5, 1927 in Hollywood, Florida, the first of four children to Joseph Thomas Gemes and Canola Gemes. He is preceded in death by his wife Sarah, parents Joseph and Canola, and sister, Barbara Palm. He is survived by sisters Clifton Moss and Ann Moro, son David Gemes, daughters Mary Ann Martin, Laura Gregoire, Beverly Hillman, and stepdaughter Judy Thompson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was a world war two veteran and served in the US Navy in that regard. He was an avid golfer, possessed a keen sense of humor and rarely seen without a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/ Dublin Chapel on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
