Joseph Roy Layton

Funeral services for Joseph Roy Layton, 58, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel with Mr. Thurmon Foskey officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Layton was born on April 6, 1964, in Augusta, Georgia. He was a professional truck driver for P & S Transportation. He also worked for Howard Sheppard, Delta 21, Arcilla and Sellers Construction. Mr. Layton is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lois Blue Layton and his father, Roy Walter Layton. Mr. Layton passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

He is survived by his mother, Patsy Barber, fiancé of 12 years, Pamela Edenfield, two daughters, Jennifer Nicole Layton Welch (Joey) and Rebecca Ann Layton Welch (Joshua), stepson, Julian Daniel Pope, brothers, David Barber, Dickie Barber, James Barber, Jessie Barber and Jason Barber, half-brother, Roy Layton, Jr and half-sister, Mary Layton Dusenberry (Ron), and 5 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Julian Pope, Alan Johnson, Randy Tanner, Randy Arnold, Lanier McCoy and Drew Webb.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
